I am so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. I remember him so clearly, he was just a wonderful and intelligent guy. We were friends in High School and lost track of each other as people often do. What a great person he was and I am real choked up learning this news. I especially remember his kind nature and sense of humor. I never heard Steve say a bad word about anyone. 

I am so sorry to hear this.  I check in from time to time to see how everything's going, and this came as quite a shock.  please let us know if there's anything we can do in this time of need.

I am so sorry for your loss. I wasn't a regular visitor to Steve's blog but the few times I came here I was in awe of this man.

I found out about his passing from BH's blog, who has felt Steve's passing very deeply.

There never are any words that are just right for this, but please know that he will be missed my many and that he impressed upon so many the true meaning of courage.

I am in a bit of shock!  But.....I send my prayers to the Meersman family. I spent the last hour looking at your family's pictures. There was a lot of care and love and something beautiful was passed onto his sons and daughter. There is a strength and resolve in each of them and they will handle life well. To his wife......you have handled it all with grace and beauty. You have many fine and found memories and your strength as a family will help you get through all of this.  My blessings to all of you.  Bittersweet

I am very sorry.  Steve was a great man.  His courage in the face of this illness was amazing.

Celebrate his life, carry his incredible courage forward, and smile......as he is smiling from above.  He will be proud.  God bless....
